The infrastructure arm invests in healthcare, clean energy, and social infrastructure projects. Meanwhile, the venture capital side targets pre-Series A startups in fintech and healthtech, having invested in nearly 30 startups.
Before establishing Healthcap, Dr. Brown founded Flying Doctors Nigeria, a tech-enabled urgent care service marketplace. This innovative service has operated in over 100 countries and responded to more than 5,000 urgent care requests, setting new standards in emergency healthcare services across Africa.
Educational and Professional Background
Dr. Brown’s educational journey is as impressive as her professional achievements. She completed her medical and surgical training at Hull York Medical School, followed by work in Acute Medicine in the UK. Her academic pursuits continued in Tokyo, Japan, where she was a recipient of the prestigious Japanese MEXT scholarship. Further enhancing her expertise, she earned a Master’s degree in Finance and Economic Policy from the University of London.
Currently, Dr. Brown also imparts her knowledge as a faculty member at the School of Politics, Policy, and Governance in Nigeria, teaching economics and finance.

In addition to her role at Healthcap, Dr. Ola Brown co-founded Greentree Investment Company, a venture capital firm that provides growth capital to promising tech startups across Africa, diversifying investments across multiple sectors including fintech, media, and health tech.
Dr. Brown’s influence extends to numerous boards and committees, including the Professional Women’s Network in Lagos, the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, and the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce, among others.
